The King to his Archbishops and so on: Greeting. Know ye that we have granted, and by this our Charter have confirmed, to our trusty and beloved Henry de Lacy, Earl of Lincoln and Constable of Chester, that he and his heirs for ever shall have a Market, on Wednesday in every week, at his Manor of Donnington, in the County of Leicester, and a Fair there every year, of three days duration, that is to say, on the Eve, and the Day, and the Morrow of St Edward the King. Wherefore, we will, and firmly command for us, and our Heirs, that the aforesaid Henry, and his Heirs for ever, shall have the aforesaid Market and Fair, at his aforesaid Manor, with all liberties and free customs, to such Market and Fair pertaining.
